The Annual Members Meeting 2024 <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The Annual Members Meeting 2024 was held on 25th<\/sup> January 2025 at Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

The AMM 2024 was attended by 45 members including Board of Trustees and staff of TI Pakistan. The proceedings started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Advocate Salim Ahmed recited verses from the Holy Quran.<\/p>

Justice (R) Zia Perwez, Chairman TI Pakistan formally opened the AMM 2024 and welcomed the participants. He highlighted that, for over two decades, TI Pakistan has been working in Pakistan to promote transparency, accountability, good governance and rule of law. A great amount of work has been done during 2024 which is a testament to the organization\u2019s unwavering commitment to transparency, accountability, and good governance. He shared that in 2024, TI Pakistan has achieved remarkable milestones, from advocating for the enactment of key reforms like the establishment of Balochistan Right to Information Commission and influencing the inclusion of integrity measures in Pakistan\u2019s carbon trading policy, to empowering youth, women, and marginalized communities, government officials through capacity-building programs and climate governance initiatives at the national, provincial and local levels.<\/p>

Mr. Kashif Ali, Executive Director TI Pakistan presented TI Pakistan Annual Report 2024 and shared key highlights. He shared a major highlight of the 2024 has been TI Pakistan focus on strengthening climate governance and promoting the integrity of climate finance. Through targeted outreach, TI Pakistan trained public officials, journalists, vulnerable communities and youth to enhance their understanding of climate change, climate-sensitive budgeting and transparency in climate finance mechanisms. He highlighted that youth engagement was a central theme of TI Pakistan work in 2024, as TIP launched and expanded programs like the Youth Climate Education & Fellowship initiative and Youth Integrity Club. These programs empowered young people to participate in governance processes, voice their concerns, and contribute to policymaking. TI Pakistan also continued to champion women\u2019s inclusion and the participation of marginalized communities in governance, political process and anti-corruption efforts. Our activities encouraged women and persons with disabilities to engage in decision-making processes and become advocates for transparency and equity in public affairs.<\/p>

He further highlighted 2024 also saw major policy advancements influenced by TI Pakistan\u2019s consistent input. The approval of the Balochistan Climate Change Policy 2024 integrated key transparency measures recommended by TI Pakistan, and the adoption of TI Pakistan\u2019s integrity measures in Pakistan\u2019s First Policy Guidelines for Trading in Carbon Markets 2024, marked a significant milestone in climate governance. Likewise, the establishment of the Balochistan Information Commission under the RTI Act 2021 was a critical step toward ensuring public access to information and accountability in provincial governance.<\/p>

Mr. Kashif Ali informed the AMM members that during 2024, TI Pakistan has forged partnerships and signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Commission (KPIC), aimed at enhancing public awareness, citizen engagement on RTI and training public officials on proactive disclosure implementation. He highlighted that there is a need for empowering local governments and climate governance institutions. In 2024, TI Pakistan published Sindh Local Government District Performance Index 2024, report on Financing Climate Action: Enhancing Effectiveness and Transparency in Pakistan\u2019s Climate Governance Frameworks, and report on \u201cState of Data Disclosure of Climate Related Data as per RTI Laws\u201d. These reports have highlighted gaps and provided roadmap for reforms.<\/p>

He also informed AMM that TI Pakistan has successfully started second phase of the project \u201cStrengthening Civic Voices for Good Governance and Accountability\u201d which will allow TI Pakistan to continue strengthening good governance, citizens empowerment, transparency and accountability in the coming years. He thanked the board of trustees for their leadership and guidance and appreciated the dedication of TI Pakistan staff, support of Transparency International Secretariat, partners, and external stakeholders which has been instrumental in ensuring that TI Pakistan continues its important work for transparency, accountability, and good governance.<\/p>

Afterwards, projects and finance teams of TI Pakistan briefed the AMM participants on project\u2019s work as well as the financials of TI Pakistan. The open forum allowed participants to raise questions and share insights. Mr. Kashif Ali shared that the key insights gathered from AMM 2024 will be helpful in shaping TI Pakistan\u2019s work during 2025 and subsequent years.<\/p>

The AMM 2024 was closed by Ms. Shahana Kaukab, Board of Trustee, TI Pakistan.
