Access to Justice during Covid 19: Mobile Legal Advice Camp

Summary:

Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with Human Freedom Organization organized a free Mobile Legal Advice Camp at District Faisalabad, Punjab. The objective of  TI Pakistan’s legal advice camps is to provide free legal advice to the victims and witnesses of corruption on how to seek redress for their complaints.

A total of 40 citizens visited the camp including 4 females to receive free legal advice to seek redress for their problems. A total of 35 complaints were registered. Advocate Punjab High Court Mr. Raheel Minhaas, Advocate Tahir Vaseer, and Advocate Ali Furqan Haidri and Mr. Ashfaque Ahmed, Project Coordinator TI Pakistan provided free legal advice to the complainants.

Most of the complaints pertained to sewerage system problems, online fraud, unavailability of public parks and public libraries, shortage of doctors in public hospitals, property disputes, a kidnapping case, and the violation of women rights.

TI Pakistan will take up citizens’ complaints with the authorities to seek citizens’ redress for citizens’ grievances. The session was also covered in local newspapers.
