IMF seeks to boost NAB, anti-corruption entities for transparency
The economic review talks between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are progressing, with technical-level discussions concluded for the release of the next $1 billion tranche. Policy-level talks are set to begin on Monday, with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb leading the discussions.

Punjab government launches inquiry into contract award for ‘Dreams project’
RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has not only stopped work but launched an inquiry into the the award of contract for Developing Resilient Environment and Advancing Municipal Services (Dreams) project Phase-I worth Rs22 billion in Rawalpindi to bring water from Chahan Dam.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) provided $114 million loan to Punjab government to launch four mega projects in the garrison city to provide clean water to the residents and work started on it in October 2024. (Read More.)

Public Accounts Committee raises questions on ‘non-transparent’ process of commercial plots’ auction in Islamabad
ISLAMABAD: The Public Accounts Committee met on Wednesday to address significant audit objections related to various government departments, including the non-transparent process of auctioning commercial plots by the Capital Development Authority worth Rs37.822 billion.
Terming it controversial, a major audit objection was raised regarding the Capital Development Authority’s non-transparent auction process for commercial plots. While approval was granted for the auction of 29 plots, only 23 were auctioned. (Read More)
