Summary:
Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with Higher Education Department and Directorate of Public Instruction (Colleges), Punjab organized an online training for the staff working in the office of the Directors of Education (Colleges) in the 9 Division of the Punjab Higher Education Department, Govt. of the Punjab, Lahore.

The training was attended by 35 participants including 10 females and 25 males. These included Assistant Directors Junior Clerks, Senior Clerks and Assistant working in the offices of the Directors of Education (Colleges), Punjab. The training webinar started at 10:15 AM Mr. Muhammad Zahid Mian, Deputy Director (Training), Directorate of Public Instruction, Govt. of Punjab welcomed the participants and highlighted that the objective of the training was to enhance the capacity of the staff working in respective Divisions i.e. Bahawalpur, Multan, Gujranwala, Sahiwal, Rawalpindi, Lahore, D.G. Khan, Faisalabad & Sargodha on the compliance with the Punjab Procurement Rules 2014. He thanked Transparency International Pakistan for providing the training.

Afterwards, Mr. Syed Adil Gilani, Managing Director, TI Pakistan gave a detailed presentation on Punjab Procurement Rules 2014. He explained a brief history of procurement laws in the province and briefed the participants on PPRA Rules 2014. For the relevance and the benefit of the participants, he explained in detail the purchase process regarding:

 Furniture and Fixture
 Laboratory Equipment
 Books for College Libraries
 Transportation (Colleges Buses, Coasters & APVs)
 Plant & Machinery (Air conditioners & Computers etc.)

Mr. Gilani also highlighted the common mistakes committed by the procuring agencies while making purchases and mistakes committed in floating the tender advertisement. He also thoroughly explained the process of documentation with practical examples which were relevant for the staff from the Education Department. After the presentation, the forum was opened for Q/A session. Participants asked many questions from the speaker and thanked TI Pakistan for an informative training.
