Workshop: Mobile ALAC – Free Legal Advice Camp

Summary :
Transparency International Pakistan in collaboration with NARI Foundation arranged a free legal advice camp (Mobile ALAC) in Shikarpur, Sindh with the following objectives:
- To provide community a safe platform to report their issues confidently
- To enhance awareness about the Importance of Accountability and RTI laws
In the ALAC Mobile camp, Advocate Shafique Ahmed Khoso, Advocate Ms. Nadia and Advocate Tauheed Mangrio provided free legal awareness and information to the citizens and provide legal solutions to the complainants.
Advocate Mr. Khoso provided the legal assistance and awareness to the applicants from the community and civil society. Adv. Khoso and Adv. Mangrio raised awareness among the citizens to claim their due rights as per the law. They also highlighted important features of RTI Act 2017 and helped the participants on how to write RTI application to different institutions to request information.
Advocate Ms. Nadia highlighted the importance of women empowerment and addressed women centric issues which were mostly domestic issues and provided women free legal advice.
Citizens highlighted issues and raise their voice against:
- Closed Schools
- Absenteeism of the teachers from the schools
- Shortage of medicines in govt. hospitals
- Broken roads, use of inefficient material in the construction projects of the government
- Unavailability of parks and vocational and recreational facilities
- Land grabbing on the play grounds, parks and other social and public places
- Corruption in the public projects
