Transparency International Pakistan (TI-P) has launched Youth Climate Education and Fellowship Program in collaboration with University of Peshawar. The main objective of this fellowship is to engage and enhance the capacity of university students in understanding and addressing climate change challenges by equipping them with skills and exposure on climate policies, advocacy, and social accountability. The fellowship will provide educational enhancement regarding basic concepts of climate change, impact assessment, mitigation strategies, adaptation techniques and social accountability, practical engagement, and training of youth in understanding climate policies and communication strategies. This year-long fellowship will engage students through workshops, innovation challenges, and community outreach programs.
 
In the launching ceremony at University of Peshawar, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between TI Pakistan and UoP for enhancing students understanding on climate governance transparency, leadership development and participation in climate discourse. Dr, Bushra Khan, Director Planning and Development Department, Peshawar, Professor Dr. Muhammad Saleem, Vice Chancellor, University of Peshawar, Mr. Kashif Ali, Executive Director, TI Pakistan, Ms. Nasreen Memon, Project Coordinator, Climate Governance Integrity Program, TI Pakistan and Dr. Shakeel Khan, Lecturer, University of Peshawar were present at the MoU signing ceremony.
 
This partnership aims to foster a proactive approach in addressing climate change challenges by equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and exposure. Through workshops, innovation challenges, and community outreach programs, the MoU sets the stage for a year-long fellowship that engages students in practical learning experiences related to climate policies, advocacy, and social accountability.
