Summary: 

Transparency International Pakistan, in partnership with the Gindar Adbi Society, organized a legal advice camp, referred to as the Mobile ALAC in district Kalat. The event aimed to provide the community with a secure platform to report their issues and complaints and raising awareness about the significance of accountability.

During the ALAC Mobile camp, Advocate Jameel Ahmed Baloch provided free legal guidance and information to the citizens, offering practical legal solutions to the complainants.

During the event, Mr. Ashfaque Ahmed, representing TI Pakistan, elucidated the goals of the legal camp and articulated the reasons for reporting instances of corruption and mismanagement. He emphasized that reporting corruption is crucial as it safeguards public funds, guarantees fair access to resources, and upholds the principles of equity and justice. This practice fosters transparency and accountability, ultimately contributing to a fairer and more prosperous society.

He stressed the significance of speaking out on crucial matters and encouraged citizens to submit their grievances to both TI Pakistan and the pertinent government agencies. Furthermore, he introduced TI Pakistan as a vigilant guardian against corruption, providing insights into its operations and underscoring pivotal projects and initiatives.

Mr. Musa Khan Mengal, president Gindar Adbi Society, spoke about the menace of corruption and corrupt practices. He provided a comprehensive perspective on how these issues have deeply entrenched themselves within the social and economic fabric of Balochistan. Mr. Mengal advocated for a concerted effort to combat corruption and promote transparency and accountability in Kalat, Balochistan.

In the Mobile ALAC, a total of 64 complainants sought assistance at the camp, including 01 woman. 05 complaints were filed by males on behalf of females. The citizens brought several pressing issues and voiced their concerns regarding:

  • Land disputes
  • Jobs were not given to deserving people, lack of merit
  • The state of road maintenance.
  • Relief goods, and flood assistance were not provided
  • Low gas pressure in the area.
  • Challenges related to the Benazir Income Support Program.
  • Unavailability of electricity-related complaints.

All the complainants were provided with detailed legal advice. Moreover, their applications were collected and duly forwarded to TI Pakistan, where after scrutinizing, they will be uploaded in database. If substantiated evidence is available, these issues may be forwarded to the relevant authorities for appropriate resolution.
