In 2024, Transparency International Pakistan launched Youth Climate Education and Fellowship Program, under Climate Governance Integrity Programme funded by Waverly Street Foundation (WSF). The objective of this fellowship is to engage and enhance the capacity of university students in understanding climate change challenges by equipping them with skills and knowledge on climate policies, advocacy, and social accountability.

Objectives

The fellowship objectives are following:

Enhance Climate Change Knowledge:

To deepen the understanding of climate change among university students by covering its causes, impacts, and the importance of addressing climate-related challenges at both the local and global levels.

Build Policy Skills:

To equip students with knowledge of climate policies, advocacy strategies, climate change mitigation, adaptation, carbon markets and climate financing, disaster risk management, and social accountability tools enabling them to effectively communicate climate-related issues and influence public and private sector decision-making on climate action.

Strengthen Social Accountability:

To train students in the principles of social accountability and enable them to participate effectively in climate planning and decision-making.

Empower Youth Leadership in Climate Action:

To inspire and prepare a new generation of climate leaders who are proactive in driving change, advocating for sustainable solutions, and contributing to the creation of resilient, sustainable communities.
