Transparency International Pakistan Celebrates IACD 2023 – Uniting Against Corruption for Development, Peace & Security,

On International Anti-Corruption Day, December 9, 2023, Transparency International Pakistan organized seminars and walks across the country. The objective was to mobilize diverse stakeholders and unite efforts against corruption. The theme for this year was “UNCAC at 20: Uniting Against Corruption for Development, Peace & Security”.

In Punjab, walks and seminars took place in District Bahawalnagar, District Dera Ghazi Khan, and District Bhakkar. In Sindh, IACD activities were organized in District Dadu, District Sanghar, District Matiari, and District Kashmore, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), community and civil society from District Tank and District Battagram actively engaged in anti-corruption awareness. Whereas, in Balochistan, Transparency International Pakistan organized seminars in District Kalat and District Bolan, emphasizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to combatting corruption.

A total of 11 events were organized across Pakistan in which around 548 citizens including 85 women participated. The diverse representation of government officials, civil servants, law enforcement officers, media representatives, the private sector, civil society, academia, and the youth reflected a multi-stakeholder approach essential for an effective anti-corruption strategy.
